  Alessandra Belloni is the only woman in the United States and in Italy specializing in Southern Italian tambourine style together with the singing and the dancing.  She is also the first one to use Signature Series tambourines made by REMO.
As a singer, percussionist, dancer and actress, artistic director of the Italian theatre group I Giullari Di Piazza Alessandra Belloni wears many hats and wears them well. She is also the first REMO Signature Series artist to design her own line of Southern Italian tambourines.
A tambourine virtuoso, singer, dancer and actress, Ms. Belloni was born in Rome, Italy and is committed to preserving the strong and rich traditions of her culture.  Alessandras work is widely recognized and she is acknowledged as one of the leaders in her field. She was a runner-up (along with Babatunde Olatunji and Mickey Hart) to Arthur Hull in DRUM! magazine's "New Age/Worldbeat Percussionist" category in their 1998 awards. Her recent CD "Tarantelle & Canti Damore" release by Naxos in 2003 has been recognized as the second best percussion CD of the year by DRUM Magazine and her other CD "Tarantata: The Dance of Ancient Spider" (Soundstrue) was acclaimed as one of the best CDs of the year (2002) by Jon Parales of the New York Times and Dan Hackman from the Los Angeles Times. It was awarded the Best World Percussion CD of the Year by DRUM Magazine.
